Endless Defense
Infinite neon waves that keep scaling. Bank credits, earn interest and chase your best wave.
Science fiction gives tower defense a different toolkit: continuous beams instead of arrows, homing missiles instead of cannonballs, shields that have to be stripped before health will drop, and events that switch your towers off. The three games here all run on Energy or gold and share the site's standard controls, but each takes the setting in a different direction.
Space Defense puts you on an orbital station defending two space lanes. Robot Defense is set in an industrial facility protecting an energy core, with branch upgrades and disruptive wave events. Endless Defense drops you onto a neon grid with no final wave at all, where the only question is how long you can last. If you enjoy games where the enemy roster keeps introducing new defensive tricks, this is the collection to start with.

Lasers, missiles, plasma and railguns against raider squadrons. The station shield recharges every wave.
Tesla coils, lasers and pulse towers against shielded robots. Specialise every tower at level 4.
Games from other categories that share key ideas with sci-fi tower defense.
A new challenge every day: different map, towers and a special rule. Same challenge for everyone on the same date.
The mechanics are shared with every other game on the site, but the sci-fi games lean on a few of them much harder. Shields appear more often. Armour-piercing towers matter more. And two of the three games add a layer of disruption: an ability or event that changes the rules for a wave.
Shields show as a blue bar above an enemy's health and absorb damage first. Lightning and Tesla style towers deal double damage to shields, which makes Robot Defense's Tesla coil the natural answer to Shield Bots. Armour is a flat reduction per hit with a floor of 25 % of the hit, so the heavy, armour-piercing shot of a railgun or sniper keeps its value where rapid fire does not. Burn damage over time ignores armour entirely.
Space Defense runs on two fixed space lanes over fifteen waves, ending with the Dreadnought. Your towers are the Laser (a continuous beam), the Missile (homing splash), the Plasma (burn) and the Railgun (armour-piercing sniper). The enemy list moves from Scout Drones and Fighters through Bombers to armoured Heavy Ships and shielded Elite Ships. The station has its own shield that absorbs leaked enemies and recharges between waves, and the Shield Overcharge ability can buy you time when a wave slips through. That shield is a buffer, not a plan: a defense that leaks every wave will run out of it.
Robot Defense is rated hard. Its Laser, Tesla (chain, double damage against shields), Missile (splash) and Pulse (damages everything around itself) can each reach a fourth level with a choice of two specialisation branches. Eighteen waves bring Scout Bots, Fast Bots, Heavy Bots, Shield Bots, Elite Bots and finally the Overseer. Two wave events keep you honest: EMP Storm takes random towers offline for a short time, and Overclock speeds up the enemies.
Endless Defense never ends. Enemy health scales every wave, a boss appears every ten waves, and banked gold earns 5 % interest at the end of each wave, capped at 50. Its six towers are Pulse, Rapid, Sniper, Mortar (splash), Cryo (slow) and Amplifier, a support tower that boosts nearby towers. Your best wave and best score are saved in your browser.
Players who like layered enemy defenses and a bit of disruption. Space Defense is the most approachable, Robot Defense is the stiffest test, and Endless Defense is for score chasers. For more on playing without a final wave, see the endless tower defense page.

How to push your best wave in Endless Defense: interest-aware economy, scaling damage, boss preparation every 10 waves and when to use auto-start.
Energy is the currency in Space Defense and Robot Defense. It works exactly like gold: you earn it for each enemy defeated plus a wave-clear bonus, and spend it on towers and upgrades.
Shields absorb damage before health. Lightning and Tesla style towers deal double damage to shields, so in Robot Defense the Tesla coil is the most efficient answer to Shield Bots.
Random towers go offline for a short time. The best protection is overlapping coverage, so that no single tower is the only thing guarding a stretch of the path.
No final wave. Enemies grow tougher every round, and your best wave is the score.
