Kingdom Defender
Defend the valley road with archers, bombards, frost and ballistas across 15 classic waves.
Fantasy is the setting the genre grew up in, and it suits tower defense well. Archers, ice spells, lightning and catapults translate naturally into tower roles, and goblins, trolls and golems make it easy to see at a glance which enemy is fast, which is tough and which is armoured.
This collection holds four of our games: Kingdom Defender in a green valley, Crystal Defense in a forest glade guarding a crystal, Elemental Defense among arcane ruins, and Hero Defense on a mountain pass. They range from easy to hard, so you can move through them in order and meet one new idea at a time: first basic tower roles, then converging paths and special abilities, then a hero you control, and finally elements that resist and combine.
Defend the valley road with archers, bombards, frost and ballistas across 15 classic waves.
Goblin warbands attack a glowing crystal from two sides. Use Meteor and Frost Nova to survive 20 waves.
Fire, Ice, Lightning and Earth towers against enemies with resistances. Trigger Shatter and Overload combos.
Move the Warden across the battlefield, use four abilities and back them up with towers.
One helpful habit in fantasy tower defense is to translate each theme element into what it actually does. The flavour is there to make roles memorable, and in our games it is consistent.
Once you see a new tower or enemy this way, you already know roughly where it belongs. Our guide on how to choose the right tower expands on these roles.
Four towers, four enemy types and fifteen waves on one winding path. Scouts teach you why a Frost Tower matters, Ironclads teach you why the armour-piercing Ballista matters, and the Warlord boss on wave 15 checks that you learned both.
Two paths converge on the central crystal. Dire Wolves are fast, Stone Trolls are armoured, and bosses arrive on wave 10 (Hollow Titan) and wave 20 (Crystal Devourer). The Meteor ability strikes a targeted area and Frost Nova slows every enemy at once, so part of the skill is holding them until a wave actually needs them.
Hero Defense gives you the Warden, who auto-attacks and goes wherever you tap on the map. Shockwave, Frost Field, Rally and War Cry run on cooldowns, and if the Warden drops to 0 HP they are knocked out and return after a short timer. Your towers here, the Guard Tower, Catapult and Rune Stone, work best when the Warden plugs whatever gap they leave.
Elemental Defense is the fantasy game for planners. Fire burns, Ice chills, Lightning chains and does double damage to shields, and Earth deals heavy splash. Enemies resist elements: the Magma Crawler shrugs off fire and the Stone Golem resists lightning. The two combos are the key to the late waves. Earth on a chilled enemy triggers Shatter (+50 %), and Lightning on a burning enemy triggers Overload (+40 %).
Anyone who likes a clear, readable theme. The fantasy games are a good fit for newcomers because the visuals explain themselves, and Elemental Defense gives experienced players a real puzzle. If you prefer lasers and shields, try the sci-fi tower defense collection instead.
Tower roles explained and matched to enemy types, with armor math and examples from our games so every gold coin goes to the right job.
The rules behind slow towers: no stacking, half effect on bosses, and how much extra time in range each slow really buys you.
How splash damage is applied, why placement matters more than for any other tower, and how to pair splash with slows and single-target damage.
How bosses work in our games, from health phases and telegraphs to slow resistance, and a step-by-step plan for preparing a defense that can finish them.
Kingdom Defender. It is rated easy and has only four towers with obvious roles, which makes it a good introduction before Crystal Defense, Hero Defense and Elemental Defense.
Earth damage on a chilled enemy triggers Shatter for +50 % damage, and Lightning damage on a burning enemy triggers Overload for +40 %. Place the Ice or Fire tower before the tower that finishes the combo.
No. Only the strongest slow on an enemy applies, and bosses resist half of any slow. Extra frost towers mostly add coverage rather than a stronger effect.
Fixed paths, build phases and towers with clear jobs: the format the genre was built on.
