Zombie Defense Games

Zombie tower defense is about swarms. Instead of a few tough soldiers, you face crowds that keep coming, enemies that turn into more enemies when they die, and a base that cannot take many hits. It is a theme that suits splash damage, slows and careful placement at chokepoints, and it punishes any gap in your coverage.

Right now this collection has one game: Zombie Defense, set in the safe zone of a ruined town. We would rather be honest about that than pad the page, so below you will find what makes it play differently, how to beat its trickiest enemies, and which other games on the site offer a similar survival feel. More zombie-themed games are planned, but we have no release date to share.

Zombie Defense at a glance

Zombie Defense is rated medium. Your currency is Supplies, earned for each zombie defeated plus a wave-clear bonus, and your base starts with only 20 health, so leaks hurt more than they do in most of our games. The route is a single path that forks, which means part of the horde can take a different branch from the rest. The fifteenth and final wave brings the Abomination boss.

You have four towers to work with:

  • Rifle: single-target fire, your dependable all-rounder.
  • Shotgun: a short-range spread that punishes anything that walks right past it.
  • Glue Tower: slows enemies. As everywhere on the site, only the strongest slow applies, and the boss resists half of it.
  • Explosive: splash damage, the main tool for crowds.

The horde and how to handle it

Walkers and Runners

Walkers are the baseline. Runners are fast, and they are what exposes a defense with no slow in it. A Glue Tower upstream of your damage keeps Runners inside your range long enough to die. Our guide on handling fast enemies goes deeper on this.

Bloaters and Crawlers

The Bloater is the enemy that defines this game. It is a tank, and when it dies it splits into Crawlers. That means where you kill a Bloater matters: if it dies right at the end of your defense, its Crawlers spawn with very little of your firepower left in front of them. Aim to bring Bloaters down early in your kill zone, ideally inside the reach of an Explosive, so the Crawlers that pop out are already under fire. Crawlers also arrive as a swarm on their own, which is exactly the situation splash damage is built for.

Riot Zombies

Riot Zombies are armoured. Armour subtracts a flat amount from every hit, down to a floor of 25 % of the hit, so towers that deal many small hits lose much of their value against them. Keep the Shotgun for crowds and make sure heavier hitters are covering the route when Riot Zombies are in a wave.

The Abomination

Like every boss on the site, it has a large health bar, changes phase at 66 % and 33 % health, and telegraphs its dangerous abilities with a warning marker before they land. Pause when you see a marker if you need a moment to think.

Playing the fork

The fork is the main placement decision. Towers placed before the split see every zombie, so that is where your slows and your first splash belong. After the split, each branch needs enough damage on its own to finish what gets through. Watch the first few waves to see how the horde divides, then reinforce the weaker branch before it costs you health you cannot spare.

If you want more games like this

The closest matches on the site are in the survival defense collection, which includes Endless Defense, Boss Defense and Jungle Defense, games about outlasting pressure rather than clearing a short list of waves. Zombie Defense also appears in the military tower defense collection alongside Medieval Castle Defense and Desert Defense, which share its focus on guarding a fortified base.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many zombie games are on the site?

One: Zombie Defense. More zombie-themed games are planned, and in the meantime the survival defense collection has games with a similar feel.

Why do Crawlers appear out of nowhere?

They come from Bloaters. When a Bloater dies it splits into Crawlers, so kill Bloaters early in your defense where splash towers can catch the Crawlers straight away.

What are Supplies?

Supplies are Zombie Defense's name for gold. You earn them for each zombie defeated plus a wave-clear bonus, and spend them on towers and upgrades.
